As part of the University of Cincinnati's UCForward program, students from across three college programs came together to film and produce a television show based around the Gold Rush race. The opportunity presents a unique situation for students to work with professionals in their field and learn in a hands on environment.

2012
The Gold Rush Expedition Race is one of the foremost expedition races in the world. The 2012 documentary features an international field of 50 elite athletes tackling a grueling 275-mile course through the California wilderness. Over the course of four days, 11 teams face merciless heat and sleepless nights while trekking, mountain biking, climbing and kayaking amidst the Sierra Nevada mountains. The 2012 Gold Rush Expedition Race documentary was filmed, edited and produced by students at the University of Cincinnati.

2013
In the 2013 Gold Rush Expedition Race, 56 elite athletes tackle a grueling 225-mile course through the California wilderness. Over the span of three days, teams from around the globe face merciless heat and a freak snowstorm while trekking, mountain biking, climbing and kayaking amidst the Sierra Nevada mountains.

2014
In the 2014 Gold Rush Expedition Race, endurance racers trek, mountain bike, kayak, orienteer and tackle a ropes course during a grueling competition that test their mental and physical limitations. The race was filmed by UC students alongside professional directors, producers and cameramen on location in the Stanislaus National Forest of Northern California.
